Manchester City may have missed out on Alexis Sanchez this month but according to the Daily Telegraph they could offset that blow by signing Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Telegraph report states that City officials held talks with Shakhtar on Saturday morning and are confident that a deal can be completed for the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who is valued at £40m.
If Fred does make the switch, he will follow in the footsteps of Fernandinho who made the same move in 2013.
