Former Rubin Kazan and Malaga manager Javi Gracia is the favourite to replace Marco Silva as Watford manager and is expected to fly into the UK later today, Sky sourcesunderstand.
Further details are emerging of Silva's sacking meanwhile and it is understood that the board and players lost trust in him after he wanted to join Everton.
Watford also harboured ambitions of finishing in the top eight after assembling their most expensive squad ever and although the club are currently 10th, they are only five points clear of the relegation zone.
